In Elle’s Magical Books, Elle lives with her family and Rebekah, her soon-to-be adopted sister. She thought her days of dealing with evil fairies was over and all was well. She was wrong.
With this tale, Elle’s beloved books cause unusual emotional reactions whenever she or Rebekah reads them. The sad parts promote uncontrollable tears, and the frustrating parts make them unusually angry.
When Elle and Rebekah begin to wonder what is happening, the fairy friend, Florena, from Serenity Island informs Elle that the island is having dangerous weather conditions and Elle is needed to help solve the problem.
In Elle’s Magical Books, Elle and Rebekah not only visit Serenity Island, but they land on Creatures Island where Glisten, the winged horse and other magical animals were born. The girls are introduced to a new villain, Aster, who once lived with the fairies before she became an outcast. Could Aster be the reason for all the emotional turmoil with the books?
Join Elle and Rebekah in this middle grade fantasy as they meet new friends, face a dangerous fae, and find that imagination is an important part of life.

Though Elle, the 12-year-old girl Carla wrote this series for is now married, the ideas for additions to this series never leave the author’s mind. Maybe Florena, the blue-haired fairy can bring Elle some magical wedding shoes to make the day extra special? Another bit of info about Carla’s niece, Elle is that she recently graduated college with a graphic design degree. Aunt Carla hopes one day to revamp these stories with new covers, designed by the young woman who inspired them so long ago.
Fictional Elle and her former foster siblings could have several more adventures between the real world and the fantastical places. Many of the stories are already inside Carla’s imagination, but she’s currently writing a young adult dragon story. The twisted fairy tale series, The Aerowyn Tales, monopolized the last six years of Carla’s writing time. She has never stopped thinking about more adventures for Elle and her friends. She even started one with a magical bicycle. Now if only magic existed and she could create her stories while time stood still.
