Carla wrote two short interlude books and one prequel for The Aerowyn Tales. The second book, Bellarose II had a story,The Scorned Fae, about a princess who had to kiss a dragon to turn him back into a prince. When Carla decided to combine the prelude/interlude books with the main trilogy, The Scorned Fae wasn’t included in the rebranded tales to be published November 11, 2025. The main character, Bellarose, talks about The Scorned Fae a lot because it’s her favorite book. It also ties in with other characters of the twisted fairy tale series.
When Quill & Flame had an open submission for this anthology, Carla submitted the story in hopes to promote it alongside The Aerowyn Tales relaunch and help raise money for Ronald McDonald House. Anyone curious about the story Bellarose refers to must read it in this anthology while helping out a great cause.
